Bendy Pop-up Card

Hey hey!

Tja, de stempelset Bird Banter zit nog een paar weken in de collectie en gaat daarna met pensioen. Dat is jammer, maar er komen zoveel prachtige, leuke enz. nieuwe producten aan! Wat er ook aan zit te komen is dat er twee nichtjes zullen slagen voor hun diploma. Daarvoor moet ik natuurlijk een leuke kaart hebben!

Dit pop-upmechanisme heb ik de afgelopen dagen zitten verzinnen en uitproberen. Ik weet nu dat het NIET werkt met Specialty Designer Series Paper of het gewone Cardstock. Dat is te stevig en je kaart blijft niet open. Gebruik dus voor  pop-upmechanisme zelf het gewone Designer Series Paper.

Oh well, the Bird Banter stamp set will be current for a few more weeks before it retires. A shame, but there are so many beautiful, fun etc. new products coming soon! What else is coming soon, is that two of my nieces will graduate. Of course I will need a fun card for that!

I've been cooking up this pop-up mechanism in the past few days. I now know that it will NOT work when using Specialty Designer Series Paper or our regular Cardstock. These are too sturdy and the card will not stay open. You should use the regular Designer Series Paper for the pop-up mechanism itself.

Beware, creative process ongoing

Je krijgt twee basiskaarten uit één vel A4 / You can get two base cards from one sheet of A4 Cardstock.

lange zijde boven, ril op 14,85 cm keer het papier	short side top, score at 5⅞" turn the paper	short side top, score at 5½" turn the paper
snijd over de helft op 10,5 cm	cut in half at 4⅛"	trim in half at 4¼"
vouw en loop na met vouwbeen	fold and burnish with bone folder	fold and burnish with bone folder

Voor de matten heb je nodig / For the mats you need:

plak in basiskaart, laat rondom marge vrij	adhere to base card, leave margin all round	adhere to base card, leave margin all round

Voor het mechanisme zelf heb je nodig / For the mechanism itself you need:

een strook Designer Series Paper  van 27,6 cm x 5 cm	a strip of Designer Series Paper  measuring 10¾" x 2"	a strip of Designer Series Paper  measuring 10¾" x 2"
met de lange zijde boven, ril op 13,8 cm	long side top, score at 5⅜"	long side top, score at 5⅜"
vouw en loop na met vouwbeen	fold and burnish with bone folder	fold and burnish with bone folder
breng Tear & Tape aan op onderzijde aan beide buitenkanten	apply Tear & Tape to bottom of both outsides	apply Tear & Tape to bottom of both outsides

plak eerst een helft in de basiskaart, tegen de vouwlijn aan	first stick one half onto the base card, flush with the score line
verwijder de strip van de bovenste helft en vouw de kaart dicht - even goed aandrukken zodat de Tear & Tape goed hecht	remove the backing on the top half and fold the card closed - press down well to ensure the Tear & Tape adheres well

Een vraag aan de bezoekers van mijn blog: ik heb in deze post een nieuwe manier gebruikt om Nederlands en Engels te gebruiken en centimeters en inches voor internationaal A4 en voor het Amerikaanse A4. Vind je dit een goede manier, of heb je liever hoe ik het voorheen gedaan heb? Ik hoor het graag van je, schrijf maar een opmerking hieronder. Liefs Karin.

A question for the visitors to my blog: in thist post I have used a new way to present both the Dutch and English and centimetres and inches for international A4 and for the American A4.
