Vlindervouw / Butterfly Fold

Hey hey!

Ik heb deze vouw gezien op YouTube, ik noem hem vlindervouw. De eerste kaart die ik ermee gemaakt heb, was met vlinders. Als je de kaart uitvouwt, lijkt het ook wel alsof deze vleugels heeft. Dus, vlindervouw. Ik geef hier geen maten, dan kan deze tutorial zowel voor het Amerikaanse als het internationale A4 gebruikt worden en je kunt hem zowel in inches als in centimeters maken.

 

Stap 1

Neem een vel A4, met korte zijde boven, ril in lengte op de helft van boven naar beneden.

Stap 2

Snijd met lange zijde boven papier over de helft. Je hebt beide delen nodig voor je kaart.

Stap 3

Doe het volgende twee keer: met lange zijde boven, ril één helft op de helft.

Stap 4

Vouw rillijnen en loop ze na met je vouwbeen.

Stap 5

Plak middendelen op elkaar. Kijk of de flappen aan de voorkant  op elkaar aansluiten. Zo niet, snijd héél klein randje van rechterdeel af. Plak rechterdeel bovenop linkerdeel. Ik gebruik TomBow Multi Purpose Liquid Glue omdat ik dan nog even kan schuiven om alles mooi op elkaar te krijgen.

Zet je gemaakte embellishments vast met Dimensionals, dan sluiten de flappen mooi over elkaar heen.

I saw this fun fold on YouTube, I am calling it the butterfly fold. The first card I made with it had butterflies on it. Hence, butterfly fold. When you unfold the card, it does appear to have wings. I am not giving any measurements here, in this way this tutorial can be used with both US and international A4 and you can make it in inches or in centimetres.

Step 1

Take a sheet of A4 and with short side top, score halfway from top to bottom.

Step 2

With long side top, cut sheet in half. You will need both halves to make the card.

Step 3

Do the following twice: with long side top, score on one side at halfway mark.

Step 4

Fold and burnish all score lines with your bone folder.

Step 5

Adhere middle sections one on top of the other. Check if front flaps are flush. If not, cut the tiniest bit off of half on the right. Then stick right half on top of left half. I use Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue because this gives me some time to get everything flush.

Adhere your embellishments using Dimensionals for a perfect fit when closing the card.
